Ready for the Egg Hunt!

Our church had an egg hunt for the children.. The girls had a great time.
Easter morning the girls woke up early and enjoyed their baskets and found lots of goodies left by the Easter Bunny! Morgan had a tough morning if you couldn't tell by the expression on her face!
Look at my stuff!
It was a race for Morgan to get the most! HAHA
Thanks Easter Bunny!

Disney Princess Race

My girlfriends and I went to Disney World last weekend. We ran in the Disney Princess race that benefited the Make a Wish Foundation. We had a wonderful time! It was nice to get away and relax. Saturday morning we did the race and we were done by 8:00. We spent the rest of the day shopping and hanging out at the pool. The weather was gorgeous!
This is me in the black, approaching the finish line. This was my 3rd 5K race and I cut my time by 3 min. The race course was so cool, we ran through Epcot and all the characters were there to cheer us on. Lots of people in the race dressed up as princesses! Not me, it was too hot.
My girlfriend PJ and I with our ribbons!
Sharon and Kem ran the 1/2 marathon the next morning! Wow they are brave...
This is our view from the back porch of our resort, the Old Key West.
It was Dr. Suess week at the girls school. They were supposed to dress up as a character from one of his books, and our baby sitter bought these shirts for them last year. They were so happy to be able to wear them for this occasion.
We played outside this afternoon and Maya would not take off her backpack! She thought she was Dora or something!
Go Maya Go!

An Evening at the Beach

We had a beautiful afternoon in Wilmington! We went to dinner when Tony got off work and headed to the south end of Wrightsville Beach to watch the sunset. This was the first time on the beach this season and the girls had a blast!
Maya loved the sand! She said it was so soft.
Morgan is growing up so fast!
My sweet mom would be so proud of her grandaughters! The girls got along great for once!
What beautiful smiles.
God is so good!
It started to get a little chilly!
We had a great evening together!

Asheboro Zoo

We left Boone Saturday morning and headed to the NC Zoo in Asheboro. It is on the way home and was about 2 1/2 hours away. We got there at lunch and turned out to be a beautiful day. We saw lots of animals and got lots of exercise pushing the girls around this big zoo.
There were very little people there, and the animals were all out and about!
We talked about what to do if you see a bear while we were hiking in the mountains, Maya raised her arms high when she saw this bear!

These elk were huge!

They have a great playground that the kids loved. It was like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!

Maya Ellis 2 1/2

Maya loved the giraffe! We had a wonderful time together!

Christmas Vacation in Boone

We took off on New Years Eve for Boone. It was a six hour drive, definitely not the best 6 hours of the week! We watched the temperature drop from 65 in Wilmington to 36 in Boone. We were happy to be there and hand out with the Wards. This is the log cabin we stayed in.
The next morning Tony and Tony Ward got up and went skiing. I took the girls ice skating at Sugar Mountain. We had a great time together. Sorry I didn't get pictures of me on the ice, but I didn't trust the girls to hold my camera. I did pretty well considering I haven't been on the ice in 15 years.

The Brigman's at the bottom of Sugar Mnt. Mckenna and Morgan are really good ice skaters.

We had lots of fun even in the 30 degree conditions!
Friday morning we woke up to snow! The kids were so excited. They played and of course got soaked before our tubing outing. At the top of Hawks Nest Tubing Hill Maya had a blast! She said "Slide again Daddy"
McKenna and Morgan did it all by themselves. You slide down and then get on this "magic carpet" that pulls you back up the hill.

We did some hiking around the mountain. The girls loved the creek. We took some great pictures on Tony's phone, but I don't have them to download. We had a great time together! Thanks to the Wards for sharing their beautiful home with us.
